Kept company by a couple of burly security guys, Bey grabbed a few pressies for daughter Blue

Fresh from surprising fans by releasing her self-titled album online, Beyoncé shocked Christmas shoppers by pitching up at Walmart yesterday to do some shopping of her own.

The Crazy In Love singer made a special appearance at the Tewksbury branch of the chain in Massachusetts on Friday night, according to E Online.

Kept company by a couple of burly security guys, Bey grabbed a few pressies for daughter Blue Ivy, including Barbie dolls.

And of course she picked up a copy of her own album while browsing the aisles.

If the sight of a pop megastar in their local branch of Walmart wasn’t enough, the lucky shoppers in the store were in for an even better surprise when Bey reached the checkout.

Taking command of the store’s tannoy, Mrs Carter wished shoppers a happy holidays, before spreading a little Christmas cheer by giving everyone a $50 Walmart gift card – amounting to a total of $37,500-worth – each in an envelope with the message: “Happy Holidays from Beyoncé.”

The singer posted snaps of the surprise visit on her official Facebook, with the caption: “A little shopping today at Walmart. #BEYONCÉ is available now in store.”

Beyoncé looks likely to top the Christmas charts having sold more than 100 million copies of her album in under a week.

People Beat Each Other Up Over Towels At Walmart On Black Friday

Walmart towels

Black Friday was ridiculous this year, including at Walmart.

Walmart advertised low prices on TVs, laptops and kitchenware, but the store’s best-selling item was … towels.

According to a statement Walmart released Friday, the company sold 2.8 million towels, 2 million TVs, 1.4 million tablets, and 1.9 million dolls.

Not only were people buying towels at Walmart, the Wall Street Journal’s Tom Gara found that customers were turning violent to buy inexpensive ones.
