THE HELP actress Viola Davis will be given the chance to walk in Harriet Tubman’s shoes as she prepares for her role in a forthcoming HBO film about the abolitionist hero.

HBO announced that the project is based on the biography, Bound for the Promised Land: Harriet Tubman, by historian Kate Clifford Larson.

Tubman was born into slavery in Maryland, escaped in 1849 and led countless slaves from the South to freedom along the Underground Railroad. She later served as a cook and a nurse and eventually a spy for the Union Army during the Civil War.

Just call it fifty shades of—vino!

E.L. James, author of the bestselling romance novel— and soon-to-be big screen adaptation—adds wine-maker to her resume with the launch of Fifty Shades of Grey Red Satin and White Silk wines, a collection of wines inspired by her saucy trilogy.

Featuring the tagline “You Are Mine,” the wines were developed and personally blended by James and winemakers in California’s North Coast region, and offers consumers the chance to connect with Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele on a different level.

“Wine plays an important role in Fifty Shades of Grey, adding to the sensuality that pervades a number of scenes,” James says. “I hope my readers curl up with a glass as they enjoy the romance between Anastasia and Christian.”
