Last week, Rihanna’s name appeared atop Billboard’s Dance Club Songs, which measures the most popular tracks in nightclubs across the U.S. during any given week. She ruled the ranking with her song “Pose,” which has become something of a surprise hit in the dance world thanks to a handful of especially clever and catchy remixes. DJs around the country picked up on the track simultaneously in a way the general public hasn’t, which spurred the tune to the No. 1 position.
Owning the highest spot on the Dance Club Songs chart is nothing new to Rihanna, but last week’s accomplishment was special for the international superstar for a few reasons, all of which prove that she truly is one of the most successful acts in history.
According to the publication and charts company, “Pose” was the Barbadian singer’s thirtieth chart-topper on the dance-only list. Rihanna is now just the second vocalist in history to score at least 30 No. 1 songs, following Madonna, who is still the leader when it comes to chart toppers (she has an incredible 46).
“Pose” also makes Rihanna’s most recent album Anti one of only four in the history of the list to send six different tracks to the uppermost spot.
