Justin Bieber has come a long way since his teen days when everyone had his hit song Baby on replay in their heads,
and while we’re still whistling Where Are U Now, it seems that the Bieber and his team manager Scooter is asking that of the next musical star.
Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun are reportedly in discussions about setting up their own record label with Universal, reports The Sun. Bieber would be setting up a new company and pick and choose talent and sign them up to his label.
It’s been reported that Justin is looking for a number of female artists and a band. “Justin, Scooter and their lawyers are working on creating their own record label in partnership with Universal where Justin will sign his own artists,” the insider said.
“With the help of Scooter, he wants to create a label which would allow him to pick up performers that he believes in and do for them what Usher did for him.”
They added that Bieber, who has grown up in the spotlight, is now keen to take control of his musical future and be on the hunt for new talent.
“He wants to make sure he is still a big player in the music industry even when his own music career starts to die down,” the source said, adding that Bieber has been taking advice from Take Care rapper Drake.
