The 90’s has been called by many as the golden age of hip hop, reggae and dancehall. It was the genre’s formative years and a time when it exhibited so much diversity. During that decade, it seemed that every new single reinvented the genre, according to Rolling Stone. Many of hip hop’s greatest artists were also in their creative peak. Golden age hip hop is a name given to a period in mainstream hip hop music, usually cited as the late 1980s to the early 1990s.
