She is said to be one of the richest movie stars of her generation.
And there was clearly no expense spared when it came to decorating Cameron Diaz’s West Village apartment.
The Mask actress has opened her doors to the pad in the new issue of ELLE Decor, giving a guided tour of the 2,400-square-foot prewar apartment – which is said to have been inspired by the actress’s ‘innately sexy’ personality, according to her interior designer.
The home was designed by Kelly Wearstler and Cameron describes the apartment as being ‘a bit like living in a silk-lined jewelry box.’
All of the rooms are said to be luxurious inside and out, with drawers lined in raw black silk, door frames hammered in metal and things shiny.
‘I blame my love of sparkly, shiny things on my Cuban roots,’ says the 41-year-old Charlie’s Angels star.
The star added: ‘I’m surrounded by things that mean something to me. That’s what a home is.’
Meanwhile, Cameron’s designer Kelly reveals of the home: ‘The palette reflects Cameron herself – it’s innately sexy without being over flashy.’
‘Cameron has excellent taste and understands how colours work together and why quality pieces make rooms special.’
Cameron was recently linked to actor Jason Segel, following his split with actress Michelle Williams.
They first became friends when they starred in the hit comedy Bad Teacher together back in 2011.
The couple were spotted late last month at a restaurant together and going grocery shopping in East Hampton, New York, according to Life & Style Weekly.
‘They were at [upscale eatery] Nick and Toni’s and seemed to be on a date’, a source revealed.
However, since the revelation there has been no word from Cameron’s camp over her current relationship status.
Cameron will next been saying playing Miss Hannigan in the upcoming remake of Annie, opposite Quvenzhané Wallis.
